I have read all the threads in the forum and elsewhere (including the Samsung site) on how to update the firmware in the t9. I have downloaded and unzipped two versions, 1.27 and 1.50.
I can create a Data directory using Windows Explorer and drop in the two files there. However, when I disconnect and turn on the t9 no update is done and the firmware version is the same. (1.24 on my t9). I cannot copy the files directly to the 'root' directory as some have suggested - no 'paste' operations are available if one right clicks on it or if a 'Drag-n-drop' is tried. I have tried all methods to put the file there to no avail. I am missing something obvious - any suggestions would be appreciated. I have tried this on two different computers using WinXP and two different t9's. Also, I do not see a way to use WMP to do it as it only recognizes media files. (I have version 10 and 11) Thanks! So, using windows explorer,
-double click on the YP-T9 icon -double click on the YP-T9 storage icon -drag the two firmware update files into this window. You don't drag it into any folder or create a DATA folder. When you've done this, you should have all the default folders + 2 extra files. Once you unhook and turn on the T9, it should automatically update to the new firmware. -J |

That did it! The 'mistake' I was making is to try to drop the files onto the storage icon and it did not take it. Just dumping them in the open window worked like a charm. Updated OK!
Thanks! Much appreciated as this has been driving me up a wall... David |
