Default yp-t8 battery life

Hello I own a new yp-t8x the battery life says 20 hours playing music,but I do not get anymore than 12 hours.Is the battery life overstated or is mine messed up.

do u also watch vids, have the volume to high ?
All mp3's are the same the say this amount but u always get less

I did test and let player run playing music untill battery went dead.The volume was half way up.All my music files are wma

hmm.. did you "overcharge" it?? in the manual it says "do not overcharge the device as it will decrease battery life" .. it's near the start of the manual.

can you over charge it? I leave it over nights all the time.
I thought it stoped charging when it said "charging complete" :P

i dont know what samsung mean by overcharging but i thought the current stopped when it says charged complete or fully charged. =/

It seems like a lot of factors will influence the battery life. One of them is the bit rate of which your songs are encoded, the higher the more power it will need to play them. I don't think that it's a major one. Watching movies uses more power since the backlight stays on the whole time. So same thing for your backlight set time to stay on. I'm pretty sure they got their rated 20 hours at a lesser level than halfway like you tested it. Although it's a personal preference, you don't really need your volume at much more than six or seven when you're in a quiet environement. It depends of course where your are. But I find that when you plug it into another output than your headphones like speakers, you need to set the volume around there anyway, 20 or more if you wanna get decent power. I'm really pleased anyway with the battery life and the volume level.
