I suppose if you enjoy it that's all that matters. I just don't like the fact that EMI wants to get some more money, so they make another compilation album of the same songs we already know. The record company's greed aside: I don't like listening to an album full of 'hits', especially from a band like The Beatles who explored a variety of musical genres giving each album unique qualities, which are then ruined when you 'compile' an album.

What I enjoy is hearing new takes of the songs using nothing but the sounds they recorded. Sir George and Son remixed it, and some of the different takes are neat. The original demo of Strawberry morphed into the regular version..It really good.

To each their own.

Alternate versions and rare tracks do hold an appeal, but if I had to chose between purchasing a compilation album with a couple of new takes, or an original studio album, I wouldn't hesitate to take the second option.

Why, thank you!

It's a 5/4 beat, IIRC... so it's not really danceable or mixable...

Usually several hardware and software synths, VST/DX plugins, Samplitude, Acid, Wavelab, Soundforge and Fruityloops....
