Judas Priest - Live In London - 2001

Great set from everyone, the Tim Owens material sounds much better live than off the studio albums and the set list overall is what you'd expect. Some upfront new material with many of the classics closing off the last 1/2 of the show.

Jorn - Live In Black - 2012

2 CD/1 DVD package, with a MUCH better set list than the Live In America DVD. This should still be thought of as a CD set first, and DVD as an afterthought due to the camera angles, it's not much of a DVD. Best shots are from the wings, but the only others are either a football field away, or 20 feet down in front of the stage, so sometimes you can't see anything but a couple of heads. Still enjoyable though.

Y & T - Live At The Mystic - 2012

Dave Meniketti the sole remaining member, and the first question is where are the F*(!@#ng cameras? This would have been so much better with even a marginal DVD like the Jorn one. The only Y & T DVD from 2007 is going for $90-$160 on amazon. Still a great double CD & set list, although the version I got the packaging kind of bites, odd shaped (too tall), and just cardboard sleeve action.

Crystal Tears - Choir Of Immortal - 2006

First heard about these guys because Ian Parry joined them for their 2nd album, replacing the orignal female singer Natasa Pandreia. She's, uh, interesting. Think Leather Leone, or Veronica Freeman with less melody and more gravel. Not totally unlistenable, but rather gruff for my taste.

Enuff Z'nuff - Dissonance - 2009

Here I was psyched I got a Japanese copy for uber-cheap, but it looks like the rock candy version is the way to go. US=9 songs, JP=11, and UK=13. OK, but not mind-blowing. Jake E. Lee's supposed to be on this but I didn't "hear" him. The Prince cover When Doves Cry is underwhelming.

Flotsam & Jetsam - Ugly Noise - 2013

Love Flots. Very underrated band. Some grumblings around the interweb that this is a fairly lame effort. First couple of listens, it seems pretty good to me, but I'm biased coming in. Have to see if it will stand up to time.

Tribal Tech - X - 2012

Lots of electric jazz/rock/fusion noodling, just as you'd expect. Good stuff, but I definitely need to be in the right mood to enjoy it.

Rage Of Angels - Dreamworld - 2013

Keyboardist from Ten's new project, can't really call it a band, because of its multiple (accomplished) vocalists from the hard rock/metal world. Pretty good effort, but it's hard for me to repeat play these kind of deals because of it.

Heaven And Earth - Dig - 2013

Stuart Smith's 3rd effort, and this time out he's got a full time singer instead of the multi all-star route. Joe Retta does a fine job, and this is a pretty rocking affair. An amazon reviewer complained about lack of guitar solos, but I didn't notice.

Infinita Symphonia - A Minds Chronicle - 2011

Pretty good progmetal with a Bruce Dickinsonish singer. Not a total ape like the guy from Machine Men, but shades of Bruce.

Mob Rules - Cannibal Nation - 2012 - Regular Edition

Only forgoing one live track over the dee-lux edition, so not a big deal. Sounds great on the first couple of runs.

Paramore - Paramore - 2013

The criticism that this is a serious change from the last efforts is spot on. The split has not been good for what's left of Paramore.

They just released an album a month ago with a different lineup of course, but there's no previews on US Amazon for some reason.

But the UK site has them:

Dignity - Project Destiny - 2010

Heard that this was fronted by the non-screamy dude (Jake E. Berg) from Amaranthe, so since Nexus was such a disappointment (still has screamy dude all over it like a cheap suit) and it was super cheap so I snagged it. Pretty decent semi-proggy/power metal on the first couple of rundowns.
