Artist: Quella Vecchia Locanda
Album: Quella Vecchia Locanda

My review:

Mixing 70's progressive rock , folk , and classical music Quella Vecchia Locanda is possibly one of the best albums i have heard in years. Mixing an amazing assortments of instruments including 12 string guitar , electric zither, bass, violin, and many more really lead to a complex listening experience. This album will live down as one of my favorites for years to come, its just a shame it is so short ...

Pink FLoyd - The Wall
Track - In The Flesh

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...6L._SS500_.jpg

Though it in no way endangers the meisterwerk musical status of Dark Side of the Moon (still on the charts nearly seven years after its release), Pink Floyd's twelfth album, The Wall, is the most startling rhetorical achievement in the group's singular, thirteen-year career. Stretching his talents over four sides, Floyd bassist Roger Waters, who wrote all the words and a majority of the music here, projects a dark, multilayered vision of post-World War II Western (and especially British) society so unremittingly dismal and acidulous that it makes contemporary gloom-mongers such as Randy Newman or, say, Nico seem like Peter Pan and Tinker Bell.

Artist: mayfly
Album: mayfly

my review:

Mayfly was a very obscure dutch folk band from the 1970's , which is a shame since i was only able to find the self named mayfly album by them. Many things can be said about this album, it is become my favorite folk album for now. Some songs are traditional dutch 70's folk rock, while other are a blend of strange key progression on an odd accompaniment of instruments. Starting with the first track you hear a standard baroque style string progression along with a folk style acoustic guitar. As the song progresses you get a heavy reverbed and tape delayed guitar sampled through a mellotron. Every track adds something interesting and well worth a few listens to really appreciate. Vocals are all in English and carry the charm of a dutch accent with lyrics that were composed by someone with out a firm grasp on English. Unique and beautiful is how I can some up this album !

Artist: Lang'Syne
Album: Lang'Syne

My review:

Lang'Syne was a German progressive folk band that only ever released one album, which was amazing. You can dismiss the lyrics as being very campy but the music complexity is quite astounding. I think this is the first time i have heard a sitar that has been tuned in a western scale structure, which is plain awesome, though it is only tuned like this for the this song. A tone wheel electric organ is used in a majority of tracks to add a distant ambiance and it is probably my favorite use of this instrument i have heard. Guitar chording is also amongst the more complex i heave heard in most genres, it is really fun to listen to ^^.
