Scarface is a laugh to me now. Its like a gangster version of Die Hard or something. Godfather is a classic story. Scarface is drugs, guns, and a terrible accent.

Allright I just tried to watch Sweeney Todd and that didn't work out so well.

I'll get started on it as soon as I can.

Indeed! The Godfather endures as a classic because it works on so many levels - the first 2 are nearly perfect movies IMO. And its nice to see movies reflective of times gone by.

Scarface is also a classic IMO but for totally different reasons. Pacino is excellent in Scarface, but absolutely at the top of his game in Godfather 1 and 2. Don't even waste your time with the piece of dreck named Godfather 3....

Yeah it just isn't up to the same standards and it really goes in a different direction, and it seems to be made more for the action wanting mongoloid crowd instead of the depth of story types.

Yeah same here. My dad was a movie buff BIG TIME. He had thousands and thousands of movies, I'm not kidding. He had movies on almost every single format.... reel to reel, beta, vhs, laser disc, and dvd.

Nice list. Just caught It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World in HD on TCM a few weeks back. Still funny as ever and looked beautiful in high definition. I love the scene where Jonathan Winters destroys that filling station. Truly epic!

BTW, where from in Texas?

North by Northwest. Stellar choice there.
