I don't suppose you placed your judgement on the first half hour because it's really uneventful and boring

Too many to limit it to 5 total (I'd need a Top 20 list to be inclusive, but here's my Top 10, pretty much in order)

1. Remains of the Day
2. 2001: A Space Odyssey
3. Dr. Strangelove
4. Lawrence of Arabia
5. Gandhi

6. Apocalypse Now
7. Monty Python's: The Meaning of Life
8. Aliens
9. Ordinary People
10. Wings of Desire

But there are numerous other movies that should be seen by all... Citizen Kane, Casablanca, Natural Born Killers, Goodfellas, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Godfather, Das Boot, Ran, Schindler's List, A Night to Remember.. sheesh too many to list.. make that a Top 100.....

Not in ne particular order...just that they have been favs for awhile, withstanding the test of time, for now lol.

Godfather trilogy
LOTR
Gladiator-Ridley Scott directed this. Russell Crowe stars as Maximus. Black Hawk Down was good as well
Meet the Parents-Funny as hell. Sequel wasn't as good though. Zoolander also starring Ben Stiller was good. Comedy seems tough to pull off. I also like the comedy in the Rush Hour movies
Forrest Gump
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid-Paul Newman and Robert Redford
Jerry Maguire
