Unhappy Missing songs?

I'm using WMP 11 to sync songs that I've successfully synced to my Zen VM and to my older son's Zen Nano Plus BUT I can't seem to do the same to my youngers son's Zen Nano Plus. I just don't understand why. I've tried several different ways, all programs (Creative Nano Plus Media Explorer, WMP 11, and Real Player) show the files on the Zen but when I try to play them on the Zen I can't find the songs anywhere! Any ideas would be appreciated--my 4th grader is sad...

You're saying they show up as being on your player according to WMP and Media Explorer, but not according to the player itself? That's a strange one.

If I'm not mistaken, isn't the Nano a UMS device - meaning, it's assigned a drive letter listed in "My Computer"? If so, take a look in there, and maybe try copying some files directly into the player.

Let me know how that goes, and I'll try to get back to you on this. I need to go pull up some documentation on the device.

This thread is kinda old, so all this may be well known by now... FWIW, the info regarding file system limitations posted by stevarino in the "unable to sync content" thread is probably the cause of this. I had the same problem using WMP 11. It was solved by first wiping the nano by formatting FAT32 (I'm also flashed to firmware 1.14.03) and then clearing the "Create folder hierarchy on device" option in "Advanced Options" for the device (in WMP). I then resync'd the playlists, and the songs ended up in the root directory instead. At that point, everything became visible on the device.

Under my Thread, I told you I'd work on the ID3 tags, but isn't this problem very similar to mine? Did you find out anything?

Yes, I remembered that the Nano should navigate by file/folder, so this would imply that tags aren't necessary. I'm still scratching my head over this one!
