I'm hesitating to give Windows 8 a go on my own computer. Maybe once I try it elsewhere... I hear my local library may be upgrading from their old XP machines. Though that's only a rumor...

Daul booting with Windows 7 is easy so that is what I did.

Is it a relatively full blown version? I saw they're killing SUA supposedly, but that's not available in home versions anyway. I'm more worried about what they're taking out to tabletize it. It's almost 2012 server time too.

I've been using it exclusively for a few days now and there is a lot of radical changes but I don't mind most of them and some I actually like. What is SUA?

Subsystem for Unix Applications. Previously known as Services For Unix.

Based on some quick research it said it will be removed in the version after Windows 8. One thing I really like is the new Task Manager.

I think is funny how a program called "Windows" is moving away from having programs and things in ACTUAL windows. I tried windows 8 and unless they change a few things here and there I don't think I'll be using it.

The worst part is, I actually really liked some of their new ideas, but they don't have a window so they completely kill the option to multitask, which would never work for me.

You can pretty much avoid using any of the touch apps and I tried some but they are annoying to use with a mouse and a keyboard.

New PC build !!! It works great, I can actually play games now. I have a power supply issue, and am getting that RMA'd, but other than that no problems.

Why don't you run a SSD? And what version of windows 7 you running? When I upgraded to SP1 then some of my scores dropped a little.

I'll definitely upgrade to an SSD later this year. I'm running Win7 SP1 with all updates. That's strange how your score dropped when you installed SP1.

That windows score thing is one of the most finicky benchmarks I've seen. I've seen scores range all over the place with simple re-formats, even when running the same drivers and hardware.

Yeah it is lol, a review on Amazon for my CPU said that their score was 7.5. Mine's 7.2, not sure why.

Yeah my i7 720QM used to score 7.1 now its 7.0 and my old vertex LE scored 7.8 now I've got a SATA 3 corsair ssd that only scores 7.5 I never tested the corsair without SP1 though.
