I used the slideshow for a while, but I don't anymore. Why? Because most of the time, I can't see the wallpaper anyways, so why have it keep changing? So I change the background once daily, and enabled a screensaver that goes randomly through my wallpaper folder, if I am away from the computer more than 10 minutes.

And today's?

That's a very good reason not to have a slideshow. At first I thought it was very cool, but same here, I am usually not looking at the desktop, so I disabled the slideshow. And I don't use a screensaver, since I have a laptop, which I put into sleep mode whenever I am not using it. So instead, I'm back to this, I love this wallpaper:

My user on my grandma's old desktop, my grandma uses IE, Firefox is for me. Actually, I just gave her this "new" (new to my grandma) computer, which is one of my old desktops. Back at home, I set this computer up from a clean install.

Looking at those specs, that computer is certainly powerful than my old XP machine is. Luckily, that is my backup.

And a new wallpaper.....

Wallpaper cropped from a wood engraving by my man Gustave Doré, one of the most intense artists of all time.

Hey Marvin the Martian, what's that clock and date thing you have in the upper left of your desktop? Is it one of those windows sidebar gadget things? I really like the way it looks.

Yes, it's a gadget. Best one I've seen so far, out of the myriad time/date one out there.

Update time. @dfkt, how do you like Ubuntu? I love it. Still can't replace my Win7 though.

I only use the command line and a text editor in Linux, for Rockbox development - only upgraded to Ubuntu 10.04 because it's the prettiest yet, even if I really don't need any of it. It's slightly slower than the flavors of XFCE-desktop Xubuntu or Zenwalk I usually prefer, but then again, Gnome sure came a long way.

I'm editing photos and creating/editing music on my computer, that's why my main OS is Windows XP - since Linux unfortunately can't do any media tasks well.

After going slightly over-the-top in my previous desktop renditions, I've decided to go a bit cleaner/more refined by using the Dust theme and a muted wallpaper. What do you guys think? o.0 (I can't completely replace Windows 7 due to the fact that I have several games that are a bit too complicated for Wine, and I don't want to set up a VM).
