I must admit I love my clear desktop with Object Dock...the fact that it auto-hides is even better...nothing there until you need it...sweet...that and the fact that when you do need it, you can access your desktop icon without closing any windows...

I love my ObjectDock and ObjectDock Plus. For less than $20 you can get the plus version, which is the tabbed dock. That's the one I have in my screenie (above). Great for organizing many groups of icons.

thought I'd post a photo since they aren't so popular any more

just using rocketdock set to hide with my taskbar also set to hide, nice and semi clean(dunno about my desk, or the rest of my room though)

decided I was over my last backdrop; fixed up objectdock to minimize the taskbar, got rid of my sidebar and result is clean crisp desktop
