Vista public beta has been available for some time. You just have to go to the website and fill out a form. Desktop threads are fun, atrax. Lighten up a bit - so many of your posts are so...intense.

BTW: I like Vista. I'm still running Win2K, because it's no-nonsense and rock-solid, compared to XP, but Vista seems nice, despite all the gimmicks. Been running it on my secondary machine for 2 months now.

It's not vista , I was ganna post another pic but got mixed up. The program is called Sysdm an its just a window that displays a look a like vista properties.

okok, i submit (for once, this rarely ever happens), here mine:

*sigh* i would post mine but i can't find a single stupid image hosting site that accepts bitmaps and has unlimited file size. i have a very awexome 24 inch 1920 by 1200 monitor.

Start -> Run -> mspaint. Open the picture, save as JPG. If you have any other image software like ACDSee or the like, you can resize and optimize it so it will be even smaller yet.

hmm it seems that i was under the impression that if i saved it as a jpeg it would serriously screw up the colors. i guess it only does that with gifs

without further adue i present....*drum roll*... my desktop!



btw i have a program that alternates between 173 backgrounds at full 1920 by 1200 resolution every four hours

and sorry for the bigness imagekafe's survers are down and their sister site doesn't have the little icon you click to see the full image.

I think of it as a Zen dektop...
No nonsense, all the power hidden under the hood.

Systray icons: Spam filter proxy, USB devices, Audio control, µTorrent, HDD Temp, Antivir, Miranda IM, eMule, Sygate Firewall, mIRC.

If you guys like desktop backgrounds so much, check out Drempels - it's animated, like a screensaver or a Winamp plugin - but it's on your desktop.

It's made by Ryan Geiss, the guy who made the famous Geiss plugin for Winamp, btw.

I am not a fan of desktop background. Flat black for me. I am with dfkt, no nonsense zen. But i do take it a step further and keep my tray clean.

(i updated the max size attachment to 1200x1600 px, but it has to be under 50k. So if you get a min upload the file as an attachment. Much easier for members to host files on this server rather then somwere else.)
