Default FLACs won't show; weird issue

Recently my beloved iAudio 9 wouldn't turn on, so I pressed Reset and all was well.

Or so I thought until I added some additional FLACs and only the additional ones didn't show up. (On the iAudio 9's display that is, they show up just fine via USB in Windows Explorer [which shows 3GB free of 15.3GB capacity.)

I verified the new FLACs' integrity. I re-formatted the iAudio 9 (FAT32), and upgraded it (from 1.1.4) to 1.1.7 then re-copied the data back to the iAudio 9. I even made sure to refresh the new FLACs from original sources instead of the iAudio 9's backups.

Yet still (weirdly, how could this persist beyond a reformat?) the only files that show are the ones that showed prior to the point I Reset it.

I'm too poor to replace it and can't live without it, please help!
