Default Question about Sansa Clip+, rockbox, replay gain and amping

I have a rockboxed Sansa Clip+ with about 1000 FLAC tracks with Replay Gain. I'm planning on buying a small amp like the Fiio E6 to get more volume (and perhaps better sound quality) on my Brainwavz HM5.

I have read that the headphone out is very clean - as long as the volume is set to +0.

Now my stupid question is this: if my tracks have replay gain applied, will +0 still be clean, or will I be amping a weaker signal or something? Would that be susceptible to sound quality impairment?

If the replay gain value is negative, yes, the signal will be "weaker" (less voltage).

With 16 bit music (CD-Audio), that's unlikely. A negative gain of 12 dB (which is not uncommon, but nearly the upper practical limit, i.e. a somewhat extreme case) brings the musical content closer to the noise floor by about 2 bits; but that's hardly enough to make an audible difference with regular music.
