I am noob in tthese fields and read at lot of places but couldn't find a good answer.
Actually i need a good gaming/music headset with surround sound but i read at few places that rather than getting a surround sound gaming headset one sud get a good headset with good soundstage and combine it with a good surround sound software and use clip on mic so i want to know what should i do and i can compromise on looks and build quality but headset should have good bass and am from india so brands like astro, turtle beach are not easily available and my budget is around Rs.6,000 i.e. $ 100 . And what about connection sud it be 3.5mm or usb ones

I like the Incase Sonic headphones--great comfort and good sound. "Regular" bass, though--but that's just fine. http://goincase.com/shop/incase-soni...ear-headphones On sale ($60) and a great and fair deal at the price.

It would be better for you to list what is available that you're considering. It's not realistic to expect someone on the other side of the world to know to know what available to you locally.

The OP asks for slightly bass heavy headphones....so how exactly is it that "regular bass is just fine"? The Sonics are certainly not bass heavy, that's for sure.

The JVC HA-S500 are on ear hp's with really great bass, and excellent sq across the board. Order them off of eBay,...you can't go wrong for $50USD.

And, as mentioned, you not saying where you live wastes our time as well as yours.

i was considering steelseries,sony,corsair,audio technica,razer,plantronics etc
i dont need mic at all
am a casual gamer not even hardcore and am mostly going to use it with laptop and hardly with pc so i guess a usb sound card or usb headphone with its own sound card should do it
i need the surround sound for movies u know for the scarry ones
and the footsteps in game as i said am casual gamer but avid music listner and movie watcher
so how about razer electra, kraken or siberia v1 will they do??along with steelseries usb sound card
i read in flipkart and all electra gives hell lot of bass i cud combine it with razer surround sound

Thank you, Marvin. The bass characteristic was noted in my original post, as you noted (and the OP mentioned slightly bass heavy, not heavy bass). Simply calling a good and solid phones to the OP's attention--options are a good thing in life (and did you have one for the OP as well, to contribute?).

Actually, they are, via the Incase website (goincase.com)--Incase ships internationally (via U.S. Postal Service Priority International Mail, $30). But you'll need to go thru the cart process to verify. Even with the shipping charge, the quality of the phones makes this still a nice deal.

If you already have a thread asking the same question why create another thread?

Not a big deal but TDS is right. This was the type of results from your local search that let's us know what's available to you. You may not know that bumping your original will bring it to the top the same as posting a new thread. Keeping it all in the same thread will also let anyone with more info see everything. I'll join them and the results will be the same.

You may be on to a decent combo. Give me a bit to do some more research. I don't have much direct experience with this particular setup but my initial research results are promising.
