Thumbs up Cowon iAudio 9+ UI Themes and more...

I posted this on a previous iAudio 9 thread but I think is good to have a fresh start for the new version... iAudio 9+....

I'm adding my last post (modified here) from that thread so we all (iAudio 9+ users) can be on the same page....

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

FIRST: I didn't have any problems using this but just in case, I'm not responsible for whatever happens to your device....

Intro: If you don't know what this files are for: they basically change the way the iAudio 9+ UI (User Interface) looks like (in some parts, like the music screen, and main menus).

How to use it:

-First Unzip the 3 files from iAudio9+SWF.zip (music.swf, mainmenu1.swf, mainmenu2.swf)
-Connect the iAudio 9+ to your computer
-Copy the files to this folder in your iAudio 9+: \System\Flash UI
-Disconnect it from the computer and turn it on.

If you want to revert the changes simply connect the iAudio 9+ again to your computer and delete the files you just added to that folder (\System\Flash UI) DO NOT delete that folder (or any other folder) just the files we are talking about here.

This is very simple but again... do this at your own risk.

Now...

I did some more changes to music.swf and mainmenu 1 and 2.

I tested this myself.

...This is all my work now, I've learned a few things here and there, I would appreciate your "rating" (if you like them of course)

Changes in music.swf:
-Changed progress bar to green.
-<AB> loop shows red in the progress bar.
-Track name (in yellow) with Icon all the way to the left.
-Album name (in blue) with Icon all the way to the left.
-Band name (in light blue) with Icon all the way to the left.
-When Pause is pressed it shows the Pause Icon instead of those little Eq. bars which don't really mean anything. (on top, next to the clock).
-The menu that pops up when you long press Play, shows a blue selection icon (instead of the Ugly Orange one) I couldn't manage to change that on the rest of the menus, it seems to be a different .swf (I think we're stuck there).
-Removed track numbers counter (That's nice to have in a bigger screen, not here).

Changes in Mainmenu1.swf:
-Blue grainy background instead of plain white.
-Selection names (Music, Videos, etc) in yellow.

Changes in Mainmenu2.swf:
-Blue grainy background instead of plain white. (Remember you still can put your own background here)
-Moved AM/PM next to the hour (and bigger)

I want to change a few more things but I don't know when I'll do it, could be tomorrow or in a month, I'll get back when I do it.

Enjoy, Comments or suggestions are welcome...

Hi,

I'm sure I'm being an idiot, but how do you change the wallpaper in the main menu 1 (image 3). I can set the wallpaper for main menu 2 (image 4) ok - but not for the third screen (i.e. replacing the blue grainy background).

Thanks!

Alex

You can't change it, only for menu 2, the only way is editing it on the computer with a flash software, I can do one for you if you don't like the blue one, give me an idea. Let's not make it with personal pictures so everybody can use it...

Wow - thanks for the quick response! And thanks for the UCIs too!

I wanted to use one of the wallpapers on the i9+ - img04.jpg - 'cause I thought it looked pretty! (I have attached it for reference).

Also, would it be possible to get your source files to play with? Which version of Flash did you use?

Thanks,

Alex

Here you go... One is to the left and the other to the right, you can only use one at the time, remember to rename it to "mainmenu1.swf" otherwise wont work.
Test them and let me know...

Development goes on, that's great! I hope I'll find the time to try the latest releases. But regardless of that: thank you for sharing your work! Greetings from Berlin, Germany

Do you see any chance of replacing that ugly default cover pic that is displayed when no embedded one was found?

Thanks, and yeah, I also would like to see a dark theme, overall. Something that gets rid of any white background, but I don't know if that's theme-able. Can the panel on the top be themed?

Hi Dusko, It seems like this picture is embedded in the flash file. A friend with some flash knowledge tried to replace it for me, but the resulting new file won't work on the device. Well, I'm still hoping.. Thanx again for your efforts. Greetings from Europe to the USA, The Friendly One

Hi, first, attach here the picture you want, second, you want to use it as the defaul (stock)? (I guess)
Let me know and I'll do it for you in the next few days... Oh... You want that in the original menu or one of mine? Let me know that too

Hi Dusko, please check out the attached screen shot. Instead of the white/grey background with that orange note I'd prefer just plain black. I'm looking forward to trying out your menu. I've got one request though, I hope it's not too much work: if all the writings were just in a grey tone, that would be great. But this would be just a nice add-on, I'll be happy with the white/grey background gone.

No, can't wait, gonna try it today

Well, I prefer the less colorful ones, so it's between version 1 and 3. I'm so happy that I can finally look at the display without my eyes hurtin', so once again: thank you very much!

I'm not sure though about the difference between 1 and 3..?

..

If I could do it by myself I would change 2 more things for perfection:

all writings in grey tone (can I use other fonts? I'd choose Georgia for instance..)
make the background plain black and get rid of the note symbol

But as I said before, I'm already happy with the annoying white background gone now. Amazing work, buddy!
