Default Clip Zip: Losing date setting?!

Greets! I was using my new Clip Zip (4GB w/ 32GB SanDisk card) yesterday and it was working perfectly. This morning when I turned it on I got the message that my (Rhapsody to Go) Subscription Tracks had expired. First I checked the last refresh date: 4 Feb 2013. Since that was less than 30 days ago I checked the actual System Date: January 2007!

Again, it was working fine yesterday and I know for sure I set the date correctly when I loaded it.

Anyone else seen this, or have a suggestion on the proper course?

Thanks!

Have you recently updated the firmware or formatted the device? Either one could reset the internal clock.

Nope; this was a spontaneous thing. Again, the last time it happened the product was working on Sunday evening and then on Monday morning the date had reset. The player hadn't moved and battery power was >50%.

I've email SanDisk and received an initial reply.

Better to call if possible. That way you can get the issue resolved or a warranty replacement (if applicable) right then and there.

Unless you'd rather go back and forth for days (or weeks) receiving canned and pre-written responses that may or may not address and/or help your situation.
