I think they look silly, and there's no adjustability factor. They may well sound great, but I bet they wouldn't fit on my head...lol.

They don't seem to be so easy to get. I saw one sold on Ebay recently for around $250. Most of them seem to be in very poor condition. I don't even know the power requirements.

Matter of opinion. I wear my Sony v6 with velour pads as sonic earmuffs quite a bit in the winter. I fit right in with a lot of people when I ride public transportation here in Chicago.

I took a rough count and there were at least 15 other people with full size headphones when I took a combined bus/train trip that took about 3 hours to complete. That didn't include all the portable cans I saw. There's lots of Beats and Skullcandy but I also see a fair mixture of Senn and Sony.

There was one psycho with a set of Grados. He cranked up the volume to overcome the noise of the El train when it went underground. They were so loud I could hear them with my headphones on with the music playing at my normal volume. I was sitting across the aisle and three rows back. Unbelievable anyone could listen to something that loud and not be in pain.

skip252, I have worn full-sized hp's when out & about before. And I know that the ones I wear sound good - unlike those POS beat's and skullcandies,... But, I also work on the J Line by the Williamsburg Bridge. I see a fair share of Grado, Sony, and Senns. All good IMO.

Besides, who cares what someone wears to listen to their tunes - as long as they don't disturb anyone else. Full-sized cans are ok with me. ENJOY 'EM!!!

It's tempting to turn Grados up louder to drown out outside sounds, and they'll go incredibly loud before distorting if you have a good player hooked up to them. I tried wearing my old ones out in the yard, and when the neighbor fired up the riding mower, it was a matter of minutes before I took them inside....I didn't want to end up with Bruce's ears....lol.

I wasn't so much thinking about what brand anyone else is wearing. If someone wants to pay that type of money for a fashion statement, let 'em. I don't have to listen to them or pay for them so I'm all good with that.

I was dealing with the idea that full size headphones aren't a appropriate for when you're out and about. They may not be the prettiest things but when there's enough people wearing them they don't seem any more goofy than a lot of the hipster style portables I see like Wesc.

Marv, that's just what I meant about the guy with the Grados. I've spent some time with the SR60 and they can really crank out the volume. I hate to think what that guy's hearing is going to be like in a few years if he regularly turns up the volume loud enough for me to hear what he's playing with my headphones on from that far away.

If you can pull off full size cans in public by all means do so. I can't.
It amounts to a rather bold personal style statement that does not match the image I want to convey. But hey.
