Yes that is true, these days I have all my DAPS and S2 naked so isn't a problem for me. You sure tho that there isn't a larger more flexible case of some sorts tho? There's a small market right there lol

lol.. i was offering a solution to IDvsEGO problem of having a S3 phone + Larger battery/rear cover that won't now take a fancy otterbox case, but could still place phone in warm fuzzy case during transit lol.

Seidio actually makes one. the Active Extended. Their battery sucks but you can order a backplate from them for $15 and use whatever battery you want. I actually just ordered a new battery and if it lasts like they say I will be ordering the Active extended and backplate as well. If anybody else with an S3 is interested here is what I am planning and I will try to remember to post my impressions when it all gets here.

I just took my S2 out with me yesterday for some 'real world' usuage, the battery didn't last very long (4hrs) lol, this was from full charge :S
Normally my battery lasts all day, but i just take the odd pic, upload to fb, txt's, calls etc, but yesterday I was using google maps and let my son play angry birds for 30-45mins. I couldn't believe the battery drained that fast.
Perhaps i had stuff running in the background, but with a year left on my contract I think i will also grab a larger battery and rear cover for the rest of the remaining period so I don't have to worry about this stuff again.

get GSAM battery monitor. if you ahve your screen set to "auto" for dimming then Angry Birds destroyed it. If you are getting a new battery I suggest Guerilla gadgets, Hyperion, or EZOpower. at least those were the best tested brands fro the S3.

Samsung has an official 3000mAh battery and replacement cover on the way. Should be starting to hit stores come February.

I'm a proud, but frustrated S3 owner. Feature-wise, this phone has everything you need. Everything except an adequate battery. It drains like crazy. Myself and many another S3 owner share the dreaded standby battery drain. Adding music playback will only make you searching for a wall outlet that much quicker. If you want to use an S3 as your primary DAP, purchasing an extended battery or a spare battery would have to be compulsory.

boxleitnerb, do you know if the J3 maxes out at an extra 32gb of microSD storage, or can it handle a 64gb card?

I tried it, and the SGS III as well,...I actually prefer a Motorola phone. More solid build quality, nice battery life, and the flavor of Android I actually don't mind so much.
