FreedomPop offers 500mb/month of free wireless internet with their usb modem which usually costs $50. They have an offer now where you get the modem for just $16 shipping and the first month you get 2gb data free.

I ordered one and will let you know if it's any good. I think it's 3g in most areas so slow but may be good enough for email.

I received the modem and can't get it to work with my PC. Now the coverage map shows no service available in my area. I'm gong to return it for a refund or sell it on amazon.

Why not post up the coverage map if you have a link for others to see ...

There isn't a coverage map per se. If you click the link I gave it takes you to their home page. In the top right you enter your zip code and it will tell if coverage is available.

I noticed that on first look but I'm not willing to give them my email, even one of the many I have But that's fine I was just curious to see if I could figure out who's service they were reselling. Only way this is free is advertising driven and that's why I don't put my email in

When I explored the offer (using a throw-away email address), only received a 1-month free 2GB/month trial followed by a regular priced program.

Miikerman, not sure why that happened but like I said my modem doesn't work here anyway so I'm returning it or selling it.

This whole Freedompop sounds more like Freedom flop and is a rip off. I'm sorry I posted their "deal" here. Can this whole thread be closed or deleted?
