Amazon's subscription service for ages 3-5????

I read at around 3, not all kids do. It depends on the child. For some families it would be great.

I was reading before kindergarten, from what they tell me....and I read Shogun as a freshman in high school at the age of 14. (My English teacher was floored!)

I'm with JK on this one. This is clearly a ploy to lock in kids to a platform as early as possible, certainly doesn't hurt to have all the parent's history too.

Seems the trend used to be to charge a lot for content with no hooks, and now it's going towards supply content in a way that's enticingly inexpensive, but delivered in a manner so the supplier knows everything about usage.

The price isn't bad if the content is good, both our boys went thru a hell of a lot of music & media at that age. After they grew out of it we gifted to my younger cousin for his kids. Price out a few CDs, DVDs & books per month and you do the math ... Although I would not get a kindle, lol.

Of course it's marketing--but that's the commercial world.

And have you seem little children--and others--with tablets? They go crazy with them and the content. I can see parents happy to pay a few dollars a month (1-2 coffee drinks at a cafe) on this.
