Clip+ "settings" menu disappeared

I got my daughter a Clip+ for Christmas. Initially, everything was fine, but after she played it for a while, she told me she accidentally went into "demo mode" (this again is her story, I can't find anything about demo mode on here). Now, from the main menu, it will go to all of the functions (music, voice, etc.), but the "settings" have completely disappeared. She also states that the device is refreshing the music randomly during playback, and that her playlist disappears afterwards. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Forgot to mention, I used the Sansa updater to get the latest firmware (but can't tell you which version that is because I can't get into settings).

I don't know what happened or why, but I manually flashed the firmware and the issue seems to be resolved.
