Sony Walkman Z Series Discontinued
It looks like the Sony Walkman Z Series has been discontinued or maybe just out of stock. When I was shopping online for Black Friday and Cyber Monday the product was on sale. A few days later it said that the product was no longer available. Im guessing that this might hint on a refresh for this model. Im guessing that they will introduce one or two new Sony Walkmans at CES 2013 or maybe even refresh the whole line of walkmans. If they don't it means that Sony has finally lost hope for the walkman line in the US market. This would mean that they stop selling the walkman line in the US but continue selling it elsewhere. I hope that they introduce new walkman devices at CES 2013 with cutting edge hardware running the latest version of Android.

New Sony Walkman Android 4.0
Sony is becoming more like Apple. Throw out the Z and get an F series.

Sony is losing plenty of money now, and their very high priced players probably aren't selling well. Even Apple which has gotten away with charging very high prices for their mp3 players is seeing a great decline in mp3 player sales due to the rise of smartphones and smaller tablets. Imo there is still room for mp3 players, but for players under $100 that have a card slot and perform well.
If the F806 was priced at under $149 I think it might have a chance, but at $299 it seems very overpriced. It doesn't even have a card slot. Last edited by JK98; 11-30-2012 at 11:54 AM.

Well, if the F Series player was $299 for 64gb it don't NEED no stinking microSD card slot.

I wouldn’t even consider sony … a quick look on the net and no price shopping yet shows: 8GB zip (around $50), 64 GB microSD ($60) and a great pair of IEMs around $125; Total $235. Throw on rockbox and pure bliss mon
 Don't forget, there's better deals to be had than what I just mentioned ...

It's not only about the sq, it's about it being an Android device. The clips are great,...but they're not what everyone wants. I personally don't use my clipzip,...I don't like it - Rockbox or not. It's a nice player for most,...I'm not most!!!
