Looking for a workaround and I know there must be a way to do it.
The problem is this: I have an older Sony Walkman that I really like, except for the fact it doesn't do gapless. I'm trying to figure out how to fake that. I use MusicBee, and that gives me the ability to rip CD's into one long track, which makes an album gapless. But then I don't have the ability to move from track to track. |

The --nogap option in LAME may work if the player doesn't introduce additional gap on top of those in the mp3 file. You'd have to reencode your files though, and it can make them play a bit odd on normally gapless devices.

I've tested it and found that my Walkman will play WAV files gaplessly. I also did the "rip all of an album's tracks as a single file" option and they will play gaplessly (I did it with Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon and it worked). For albums that I want to play gaplessly, that's the option I've chosen when I want to listen to the entire album, while also maintaining the album as separate files when I only want to listen to some of the songs.

As stated, only WAV plays gapless on a Sony Walkman. No other format will,...except the Japanese ATRAC Sony Walkman players. ATRAC plays gapless on those,...
