[I hope this is the right section to post in, seemed like the best fit for me
]Hi all, I'm looking for a decent android phone priced up to 150$ (maybe slightly more, but I'd really like to stay within these budget borders). I need it for pretty simple purposes: Syncing with my Gmail, Google Calendar, some use of Google Maps, music playing and also some internet browsing. Good video support and display would be very nice to but it's a lower priority. I can also spare a good camera feature, I'm not in dire need of one. other than that: 1) I figured it's best to get a widely spread device so I can easily find info, apps etc on the internet for it. 2) I also think it's best if it can have a new version of android (starting from 4.0) since It will obviously support more stuff But that's just what my instincts tell me ![]() EDIT: It also gotta have a SD slot. Thanks in advance, ZBBZ. Last edited by zoobooboozoo; 11-03-2012 at 06:48 AM. |

It would be nice if you stated what carrier you wanted to go with. I'm with straight talk and I've got the Samsung Galaxy Proclaim. It is thier first android phone that uses the Verizon network. Verizon is the only company that works well in my area.

I don't want to buy through a carrier since I don't live in the states/europe so my uncle is bringing me the phones from the US, and local carriers are pricy so I need to buy the phone directly.

A nice new LG Galaxy Nexus can be had for $300. It's GSM so it uses a SIM card and should work internationally.

The Galaxy Ace is a very decent phone at $150 with a 3.5 inch screen, 800hz processor, and a camera that doesn't completely suck (I would avoid any phone with a screen under 3.5 inch screen or 800 hz processor as phones with lower specs struggle with basic apps like angry birds). A couple of my friends have it and they like it way better than their blackberries.
I'm not from the US so I not quite sure about pricing there but Koodo Canada is selling the galaxy s II X for $300 with no contract. I would say that a GS2 is a better deal at $300 than a galaxy Ace at $150 as the GS2 is way more than twice the phone. I would think you would be able to find the GS2 around that price especially with black Friday coming up. |

Thanks for the help guys.
At the end I'll be getting my uncle's old iPhone 4. I dislike Apple, and would rather have an android-based phone but I think an iPhone 4 is still better than very cheap android-phone. |

Just don't forget to jailbreak it, since you sound like the "rooting/hacking" type of person. And most importantly - enjoy!!!
