Has anyone got a Nexus 7 yet?

Was wondering if anyone has picked up a Nexux 7 yet. And what their thoughts were on it

The new and upgraded Nexus line really looks nice. Congratulations to Google!

But save for 1 thing: no SD/microSD slot. Arrgghhhh--so frustrating! I'm sorry, but: the Cloud is not an adequate alternative for storage at this point--connections go down and it is not universally available. Until then, put the %&^*&&!!! microSD slot in the dang device!

WiFi only means that even the cloud is limited to certain locations. But, @32gb, I think it's a nice alternative to an iPad mini.

With no card slot, I could still live with 32GB, assuming it was not my only device.

Well i would use it mostly for surfing the web , streaming Netflix , Pandora and other internet stations and streaming from my network hard drive which has all my music and movies on it

Was thinking also of getting the Samsung Galaxy 5.8

But from what was posted on another thread the price was way to much

If this were to be released in a 4G version I'd pop for it. Then it would, IMO, be a much better option than an iPad w/3-4G.

I was intrigued by the 5.8 at first, but the pricing, plus the fact that it is almost the size of a tablet anyways, makes me thing most people would just get a tablet instead. And now that I have a 7" tablet again, no way I'd buy a 5.8.

I like that it's vanilla android with no rubbish on it like Samsung tablets or, worse, the Kindle line.

I love it - it's really fast and updates from Google are quick.

I use Kingsoft office for Word documents, Aldiko, Kindle and Kobo for readers, and I like Chrome as a browser and Currents and Pulse as news readers.

I haven't put any music on it because I have smaller devices; and I don't watch films on the Nexus as 7" really is too small in my opinion, but OK for YouTube clips.

There's been a lot of criticism leveled at the cost of the iPad Mini, (somewhat justified given its lower-res screen than its competitors) but now we know where that extra cost comes into play, I think....

Here's a comparison with with also the galaxy tab 7. Spoiler alert, the galaxy tab actually survive all the drops well the ipad mini and Nexus 7 didn't. For $250 you get FR blaster, micro sd card slot and the most durable tablet out of 3! It might just be me but I think Android Authority purposely writes bias articles against top android manufacturers to get people to hit the links to their articles more.
