@Syndrome, btw my neighbor grows chickens for eggs, he must have around 20 birds by now. I use the shit manure as a fertilizer for my vegetable garden, mainly my peppers

I've got the ones in the pic, maybe a few more rogue ones, and 10 more in a cage. A while back I had 40 more, but they're all in the freezer.. or my belly. I've got llama's for manure.

And its pretty impressive how hard those pecker heads can hit you with their beaks when they're eating.

Wild dogs came in last night an took out nearly a dozen. First time we've lost any since we've had them. Before the chickens we couldn't even call coyote's in. I guess they finally figured it out. Now I've got 6 traps set and the .204 rifle will be on hand all night.

Hmmm, could it be the wild dogs came in to rescue the chickens from their evil owner?

Who wants a mangy, flea-bitten hat or jacket in exchange for fresh eggs every morning and an occasional Sunday fried chicken dinner?

There is a bounty in my state for coyote right now, $50 for the lower jaw and the ears. And if you skin them right I've heard you can get $40 for a pelt.

I am eating Popeye's right now.

I can't raise chickens since I live Metropolitan area. I used to raise them in my youth. However, there is a local market that I walk to that sells free range chicken raised near by. It cost more but they have so much favor and moisture when cooking. Costco sells better chicken I can get in most local stores but the free range is the best and I don't buy at Costco anymore.
