Alcatel-Lucent and TCL to release a Windows Phone in Russia and China
Alcatel-Lucent and TCL have teamed up to release the Alcatel One Touch View, a Windows Phone 7.8 handset, in Russia for 7990 rubles ($256 USD). The device will also be released in China under the name TCL View S606.
The handset sports a 4-inch IPS WVGA display set into a 124.2 x 64.2 x 10.75 mm chassis of either Sapphire Blue or Dutch Orange. Inside, it’s powered by a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM7227A processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, and a 1,500mAh battery. A 5MP primary camera and VGA front-facing camera also come standard.
This isn’t the most powerful handset on the market, and it won’t be released until after the big Windows Phone 8 launch, putting it a little behind the times. That being said, the $256 price tag isn’t bad, especially since that’s before carrier subsidies. The Dutch Orange color isn’t all that bad either.
What do you think?
