Touchpad keeps interpreting scrolling as tapping
Over Labor Day weekend, I was lucky enough to acquire, for free, a used 5GB Zen Micro. I already own a much larger Zen Xtra, but I have family who might want/need to step into the 21st century, so I figured what the heck.
Upon charging it up and powering it on, I learned that everything seems to be working fine except the touchpad. Scrolling down usually works fine, but scrolling up keeps being misinterpreted as a tap. Messing with the sensitivity settings doesn't seem to have any effect on anything, and I have updated it to the latest firmware.
I happened to notice that tapping in the very middle of the pad doesn't register most of the time, while tapping at the top or bottom does. Is it possible that the lower middle area of the touch sensor is just worn out, so when I try to scroll up it only detects that I touched the bottom and then wasn't touching it anymore? I imagine the sensor would be the first thing to go on a player this old.
