His link is for the FiiO power output, which I was already aware of. I'm wondering where he saw the Zip's output on Sansa's site.

Edit...One would assume the Zip's power output would be the same as the Clip+, right? In that case, read this.....

I do not think we should go with the vendors’ specifications. Better would be NwAvGuy—i.e., about 15 mW into 16 ohms versus 122 mW maximum output into 15 ohms. http://nwavguy.blogspot.ca/2011/02/s...-measured.html.

I'm not sure sandisk would be any better than any other manufacturer reporting specs. Unless I misread or forgot, I seem to recall that NwAvGuy measured maximum output at about 15 mW.

Well... I was walking the dog when I wrote that, and she attacked the neighbour. So I wasn't focused (btw, the neighbour is an ass )

Anyway, you are probably right The Martian, but I would not buy an E6 again. It's useless for easy to drive headphones and not beefy enough for high end stuff (or even to impress the ladies... haha...)
But since it was so unexpensive, I don't regret my buy. I love that lil piece of black plastic with that nice blue thingy:
