correct for WiFi they don't charge or they couldn't ...
Edit but you said before here that it eats up the prepaid cash, so they do charge for mobile use even though you don't have a specific contract ...

how much you willing to spend? you can probably get a galaxy s2 for a decent price. also if you are off contract consider switching to straight talk. $45 a month gives you unlimited calling and texts and supposedly unlimited data. they use att service. i know personally that att services costs $40 a month just for the phone plan and doesn't include data or texting. i recently got a phone from cowboom that was near mint
http://www.cowboom.com/product/973249 that is a link to the s2. |

I think the monthly service charge is overkill for what the original poster wants. He mentioned mainly listening to music, and making few phone calls. I pay $25 for a recharge that lasts 3 months. I sometimes I run out of minutes before the time expires, but I probably average 2 1/2 months between recharges, which works out at $120 per year. All my data usage is using WiFi. It works for me since the only time I want to use the web or apps is when I am at work, at a coffee shop, or at home, so having no data service is not an issue for me.
