Hi,
I have used many of the Sony Walkman from the NWZ Series, I have found they are reliable and have been satisfied, but my latest one has clunked out and I am not sure what to get next. I have also had the Sansa clip, which was ok. I am thinking about the NWZ-a865, but the price (£100)+ is putting me off, are there any alternative ones From the UK Price £30-60 Regards, |

I've been pleased with my current Walkman (NWZ-E465) and would recommend it. I paid $110 (if I've calculated the exchange rate correctly it's approximately £70) for it about 6 months ago so it should fall within the price limit you mentioned above.

COWON iAUDIO 10 are still too expensive these days...
I strongly recommend iAUDIO 9. Cheaper, very light, small, nice controls, great sound quality, great sound enhancements (for acoustic and eletronic) and decent battery life. Just don't use the stock earbuds... they are awful. |

Get a Sansa Clip+ or Clip Zip. If you don't like it out of the box, install Rockbox. Steve

At $110 though the E465 doesn't look so intereting, since the Samsung Galaxy Player 3.6 which has a card slot is only $129. I guess if the E465 had 32GB instead of just 16GB, or if it had a card slot, it might have been more appealing.

The iaudio 9 is almost as much as the Cowon C2. The C2 has a card slot which the iaudio 9 lacks. The C2 also has much longer battery life. Both the C2 and the i9 are probably over his $120(75 quid) budget, as electronics items are usually much more expensive in Europe than in the US. Since the Samsung Galaxy player 3.6 also has WIFI though, I would prefer to have the Galaxy Player 3.6 over the C2, even though the C2 has longer battery life. The SGP 3.6 is now $129 in the US.

"You are contradicting yourself"
Not really. I want WIFI if I can get it for no additional cost(or almost no additional cost) however I don't want to pay plenty extra to get it. It is sort of like getting good service in a retail store. It is something I want, but not something I will pay extra to get. If two stores have the same prices but one has better service, I will go to the one with better service. If the store with worse service is cheaper though, I will settle for worse service. |

Battery life is important, but it isn't everything. If it was, I would have bought a Cowon D2 or C2 instead of Sandisk players. The ability to charge a Sandisk player with a usb battery pack while it is playing is a major feature that I take advantage of often. Even when I am home I often have my players connected to usb battery packs.

Hey guys,
In the meantime I've been using the Sansa Clip not the plus version. I've used the headphones supplied with the clip, and recently bought the Xplosive headphones and the music on my mp3 is still quite low, so while commuting at busy times I notice the lack of loudness maybe I'm to used to my sony wmz model. Ive updated the firmware but still... My budget has gone up also, so far C2, iaudio 9 are the main suggestions, I've seen a few samsung mp3s, having the s2 as my phone another bricky electronically device will sag my trousers to the floor. Bearing in mind, I mainly listen to hip hop classic/beats and occasional heavy bass track. Thanks and Regards, |

Omg, I am such a muppet, so I ordered the c2, and started playing with the sensa and noticed that the volume setting was on my medium instead of high.

Don't worry, the C2 will still impress the heck out of you.
