Heres a list of drives that are known to work in the H1xx and H3xx players.
Avoid drives advertised for ipods and/or ipod branded drives as these normally wont work in a iriver player. Example of a ipod drive Note the apple logo on the lower left corner. H110 115 120 and H320 (GAL drives 5mm thick) Without modification MK2006GAL (20Gb) MK2004GAL (20Gb) MK3006GAL (30Gb) MK4007GAL (40Gb) With modification Zif (Lif) Drives MK2008GAL (20Gb) MK3008GAL (30Gb) MK4009GAL (40Gb) MK8025GAL (80Gb) H140 andH320 (GAH drives 8mm thick) Without modification MK4006GAH (40Gb) MK6006GAH (60Gb) MK8007GAH (80Gb) With modification Zif (Lif) Drives MK4008GAH (40Gb) MK6008GAH (60Gb) MK8009GAH (80Gb) MK1011GAH (100Gb) MK1214GAH (120GB) To use the Zif drives you'l need an adapter such as this one made by libmart You can get them from their ebay store http://search.ebay.com/?sass=libmartcom&ht=-1 and the item http://www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?_nkw=...ssn=libmartcom Once connected the ZIF drives are basically the same size and will plug straight into the player. Formatting The drives must be formatted to a FAT32 file system to work in the iriver players and as windows doesn't do FAT32's over 32GB a third party program will be necessary. Two of my favorite free programs for windows are Fat32Formatter and SwissKnife Both are user friendly. Last edited by jumbuck; 09-16-2012 at 03:25 PM. Reason: bad spellun |
