Well, thanks for bursting my bubble on this. I hadn't seen that thread.

Still, 4 bucks is a good price for a replacement battery whether it's actually higher capacity or not.

Didn't mean to bring you down. Just wanted to point out that it isn't real likely that a battery the same size as the original could have a higher capacity. The high capacity batteries that were once available I mentioned in the linked thread came with an extended case and longer screws to accommodate the larger size need for greater capacity.

Thanks for the advice, even though the discussion got a bit off topic after a while.

But I have a question. Suppose that I buy a new Zen or some other player with only a small amount of internal memory, and then buy a 32 GB SD memory card. Would the music that I store on that memory card be sorted in the same way as it would if it was stored on the internal memory? Can I still browse the music by for example artist, album, etc.? Or would it just be a big lump of files?

And another little thing: It is very important for me to not have to constantly choose which song I listen to. Can the players mentioned in this thread play all songs randomly?

The Sandisk and Cowon players integrate card memory contents with internal memory when searching by artist, album, song list, etc. The Zen does not integrate card contents with main memory.

One of the knocks against Creative's approach to external storage is that the card has to be accessed separately and can't be viewed or used at the same time as the internal storage. The sandisk players create a database that allow browsing and playing all the files on the devices as an integrated whole. That includes when you use the option to shuffle all the songs on the player.

Sorry about the off topic. Things tend to wander around some around here. That tends to happen more when the OP isn't around to help things stay focused.

I see. The Sansa Clip Zip looks handy, and I might end up ordering it. However, I will miss the opportunity to play videos even though that is just an option that I use marginally.

The alternative seems to be a Cowon. It seems that they all have touchscreens or touchpads, but from what i can see on some images, some of them also have some useful buttons on the sides of the players. The problem is, first, that I can't find physical Cowon players in the shops here in Norway, so I can't check out how button-oriented they really can be; and second, there are so many Cowon models, which means that I find myself unable to make a good judgment about which would be most suitable to my needs. Do you have any suggestions?
