Modifying Samsung cellphone dock for SGP 4.2

I am thinking about buying:

Like the SGP 4.2, it has a micro USB located at the middle of the base. The two devices are nearly the same size. If I need to, I can machine down the plastic curve on the dock to make the more square shape do the SGP 4.2 fit.

Has anyone adapted this or a similar phone dock? Is there a better option for a sideways charging dock?
