I am thinking of buying a Galaxy Player and would like to know if the player itself will have the capability of organising files/folders of my music, and whether it has a bookmarking facility? If not, are there any apps available to do this?

There's some confusing about the meaning of "bookmark". If you mean the ability to mark a place to come back to later then not with the stock player. If you mean the resume feature that lets you continue where you left off last session, then yes it does that.
Android has a file system and can arrange your music just like you would in Windows. You can access it from the player by genre, artist, composer, etc, or by folder. The stock player is pretty good for music. Your question about bookmarking makes me think you might be interested in audiobooks and it is okay for audiobooks as well but there are a few other Android apps you can get for it that are even better. I generally use the Audible player and listen to Audible books but I also have a couple of other players on board for MP3 audiobooks. I don't use them that much so I don't really remember which one I like best. Barry |

Thanks Barry.
Yes I do listen to audio books, hence the bookmark question. I'll check out the apps. |

These things are great for audiobooks. You'll be overjoyed.

All in all, I've been pretty satisfied with the stock music player for music.
No ability to bookmark for audiobooks though. Someone suggested an app called MortPlayer (free) here last week or so and I have found it to be very, very effective for mp3-based audiobook collections. The 5.0 is a fantastic device, although the camera is pretty slow (slow to focus/take). Almost all other aspects are great! that is, if you can stand buying an android gingerbread device when ICS is on the shelves. wish Samsung would start work on the next generation. |
