A seemingly bizarre drink--made with green coffee extract, but fruit-flavored? This should be interesting--and there are 4-5 Starbucks within 10 minutes of me . . . .

You could go to every store and get a different drink at each one....even though it says one per person !

Oh, but their green tea lattes are so. damn. good.

Of course, sweetened matcha may not be everyone's...*puts on sunglasses*...cup of tea.

On the topic of these "Refreshers," I tried a Dixie-cup-sized sample of each flavor the other day, and I really wasn't into them. Too artificial tasting.

Just had mine awhile ago. While he taste wasn't that good, the buzz I got made up for it.

It's been a really long time since I've been to Starbucks. Oh well, it's too late anyway....

Seems like there are 4-5 Starbucks within 10 minutes of most Americans. I had the lemon one today. Tasted ok and the line was short so I was pleased. I don't ever plan to buy one though.

If you live in San Diego, stop by the AMD event where they're giving away a free cpu and motherboard just for stopping by.

Damn I wish I lived in San Diego. That's a nice motherboard they're giving away, along with the CPU. I could have saved myself big bucks if I got those free for my new computer that I'm building in August. Oh well.

BTW sorry for going off-topic.

I've only been to starfucks once. And that was to much. They charge wayyy to much for a simple cuppa joe

And so, the Refresher verdict:

In a 12 oz. cup, over half filled with ice. The rest: a water concoction and a small amount of flavoring, lime or "hibiscus berry," with a thin slice of lime or a few berries thrown in. I've read some others say they got a buzz from it--I felt little or nothing there (certainly less than a cup of tea or coffee). And light flavoring--less than squeezing and then adding some wedges of lemon to a cup of water. Similar amount of flavoring as cucumber water.

And for this, Starbucks is charging $2.98. Why not just grab a bottle of water, put a flavored teabag in it and some sweetener, and shake?

You can never underestimate the consuming public, or merchandisers . . . .

Sounds like the samples I had a day or two before the big free promotion were much stronger flavored than yours; mine definitely had more of a Crystal Light/Kool-Aid type of vibe than a cucumber water one. (Not that more flavoring was necessarily a good thing, mind.) I imagine the Refreshers start as a powdered mix, so I wouldn't be surprised if Starbucks watered them down a bit (or a lot) more when they were just handing them out.
