They want to charge more so Directv said no. My family has Directv and my sister is really mad but I don't watch much tv so I don't care. I can watch Comedy Central stuff online. It's just so absurd though. 0_o Paying more for TV when you have the internet? TV should be getting cheaper or going EXTINCT. The article mentions Netflix and Hulu - that's all I use.

Only channel i care about is comedy central. And I can just download the tv shows half hour after they air. So who are they really hurting? Only real reason for me to have direct tv is so i can watch hockey and soccer

This kind of thing happens very often with directv, a few weeks ago they had the same issue with a few other channels.

That's probably because they charge lower than the other carriers, and because they are so bottom line they don't have any leverage if the channel providers want to charge a higher price.

I said I don't care but I did want to watch The Daily Show in 15 mins. I though it would be fixed by now. The man on the TV says Viacom wants to up prices 30%. Do they really think they can get that? crazy mofos.

We've been switching back and forth between Directv and Dish Network depending upon the prices. . .

There is a site dedicated to it now. I read that other companies are on the side of Directv. Hmmmm.

Apparently you can get a small refund if you complain to DirecTV for not receiving Viacom channels. It's not much, but at least it's something.

Chances are if Viacon gets their increase, Direct TV will pass the extra expense onto their subscribers.
