HTC Connect aims to bring together devices at home or in the car

HTC aims to bring together devices at home or in the car with its new certification program known as HTC Connect. The company is promising “seamless integration” between its smartphones and tablets and HTC Connect-enabled devices, "fostering greater A/V connectivity.”

Of course, type of thing isn’t new in the slightest. The industry already relies on DLNA to accomplish these tasks, while Apple uses its own proprietary system called AirPlay. HTC Connect is actually a combination of existing technologies. It will start off exclusively using DLNA, it but it will eventually expand to include Bluetooth, NFC, and much more.

Pioneer Electronics will be first partner on board, bringing HTC Connect to its DLNA-capable audio/video receivers and wireless speakers before the end of the year. HTC One smartphones will receive an update “in the coming months,” allowing them to work with HTC Connect.
