Fuze+ just arrived and... zombie-like!

So, the purple 8gb just arrived and I connect it to the pc straightaway. Pc sees it, and attempts to charge the "critically low" 0% battery, as well as update the firmware.

Three hours later, it's still critically low, won't power on (when not connected to the pc, it seems to be comatose), and hasn't accepted any updates.

This is entirely unlike my 16gb unit, which was spiffing out of the box.

Anyone else seen this? What to do?

Sounds like a dud....I'd return it.
