Default The most expensive IEMs so far

Completely ordinary dynamic driver universal fit IEMs with a metal housing - for over $2000... guess I really don't have to add any snarky comments, the joke's already obvious enough.

that
looks
ugly as hell.

At least Bose and Monster make their products fashionable and comfortable. Those look like they have no redeeming qualities at all.

Will we be expecting a review on ABI anytime soon? I wanna know how my PFE's stack up.

Naw man, I bet they cryo-treated it and like, dipped it in unicorn blood to prevent that. Y'know, like all the other cool companies do.

I would need a gold E2 to go with those.. They look fugly - the sort of thing that would appeal to Bose users with even more money.

I did link Shigzeo's site in the original post of this thread. He's a nice guy (and he uses Sansa players too, not only iPods), but I'm not sure about a company that calls itself "Final Audio Design" and wants two kilobucks for that piece of junk...

I didn't know Enzo had unlimited budget. This item is for unlimited gullible idiocy without any common sense, though.

To put that into perspective - Sennheiser's current flagship full-sized headphones, the HD800, cost $1400. And Sennheiser, the world's biggest headphone manufacturer, actually puts some real research into their products, not just some marketing fluff like those Japanese con artists.

If you think those IEMs are pretentious, you should see the write-up for their audio interconnect cables at the bottom of this page:
Quote:
Power supplies (AC), line cables, and speaker cables exhibit tremendous vibration when they conduct current. This vibration alters the audio signals and can lead to a loss in the amount of information carried. With AC cables, this can mean a loss of electrical energy. For audio cables, vibration has always been an intractable problem. Attempts to use softer materials to counter vibration have always resulted in phase distortion, at which the path to high fidelity is lost. The astounding characteristics of M-2052 make it the only vibration-damping material that expands the path to high fidelity. The path to high fidelity is crossed by an age-old problem – materials. Final Research did not hesitate to choose copper. To eliminate impurities, simple oxygen-free copper (OFC) with its lack of unneeded processing offers the most straightforward molecular structure, and the fact that it’s widely recognized to be the purest makes it clearly the best choice. And since we believe that our subjective perceptions based on many years of experience are the best gauge of audio performance, we didn’t rely on measurements and data. The elegance of the molecules in the material enables it to counter even absolutely invisible vibrations. Other materials such as silver offer high conductivity, making them popular in high-fidelity applications. But one characteristics of silver is that it doesn’t bond with other metals. Also, once you’ve listened to audio over silver and heard how high the impedance is, it’s clear why silver is just another path that leads away from true high fidelity.

Every single sentence is a bucket of chuckles... oh boy. Those must be the dumbest audio con artists I've encountered yet. But then again, English isn't their main language. I'm sure it sounds more convincing in Japanese.
