Yes, very well priced, it's just a shame that by the looks of it (reviews on the app) that the BBE effects have been removed? I will give the plus version a go if they reappear.

WTF, there's no BBE and BBE ViVA in the new versions of the paid and free Jetaudio? Maybe that back and forth with availability on the Play Store was some legal issue between Cowon and BBE Inc.?

I'm thinking they are probably hammering out something with the BBE effects,hopefully I'm right about that. I'm keeping the original Jetaudio app with BBE effects for the time being.

Small info: Yesterday Cowon released an update and now jetAudio (both Free and Plus) supports FLAC 24/96. Still no BBE, though.

Oh good. I can already hear the much improved audio quality... especially since Android itself resamples *everything* to 44.1 kHz anyways, in the worst possible way, with linear interpolation. Totally useful, supporting "HD audio".

Yeah, I know how useful 24/96 is. (TBH, 256kbps LAME MP3 already sounds flawless to me - thus, 99% of my collection is MP3)

But there are many people who seem to care if an app supports it (esp. here and on head-fi), so I just wanted to inform them.

I didn't know that, but google turned up your tests:

I should finish up the high quality rockbox resampler and submit it to Android. No sense using linear when you can do much better very easily.

It's especially aggravating for video, since most everything uses 48kHz - for audio at 44.1 it's not an issue, of course.

AFAIK, that weirdo "audiophile" Neutron MP audio player is the only one that has its own resampler, which doesn't give too crappy results (I tested it, but can't find the results any more). Of course it's a major CPU hog and battery drain.

I checked and there is actually both a cubic hermite resampler and a high quality sinc one. I guess your device's firmware was just configured not to use it for some reason.

Interestingly, the one I wrote and the Android cubic hermite are identical.

That is weird. I know that several Samsungs and the Sony Z don't resample properly. I have to test my Archos and Cowon, if they're any different.

Autogain: OFF
Preamp: 2 dB
BBE: 25
X-Wide: 15
Reverb: OFF
X-Bass: 10
EQ Preset: Headphone 2

Sounds Amazing on my SGP 4.2.
Buy the normal (non-BBE) plus version on Google Play if you have any moral qualms.

I've had this for over a year.
The non-BBE version isn't worth it....nothing special about it.

You can't get exactly the same sound as on a recent Cowon, but what you can get is pretty good.

The sound difference between this and poweramp is crazy!
BBE really is the magic sauce.. Shame Cowon can't get their hardware act together. Their loss.
