Hey!
I'm looking for 50-70$ headphones. I want them to not be in ear - since it is a design I personally don't feel comfortable with (although I know it is most common for sports). Since it is for sport, regular on ear just don't sit firmly enough on the ear and so you have to adjust them too frequently during the workout which is annoying. There for what seems like the best design to me is behind the head. I've had some experience with that design and I find it very good for sports. The only downside is that I just didn't find good headphones in that category. It is either around the 10-15$ which is decent but not more, or it spikes to the 100$+ for no understandable reason. another pro for this design is the fact that it isn't noise canceling which is very important to me. while music helps me and motivates me through a workout, I fear to get too attached to it and to forget where I am, especially urban/park runs and such. so hearing the environment is very important to me. also since it is for sport I need a durable design, something that can survive sweat/mild rain, perhaps mud and just general out-door conditions. Thanks!! |

While I don’t know anything about these gizmodo recommendations, the Sennheiser PMX 680i Sports for around $53.00 seems to meet your budget, read their article here. BTW they seem to have the same feature mic/remote as the headphones you asked about in that other thread, which means they have TRRS jack but I wouldn't let that bother you with either product if they meet your needs.

the problem with them is that they are in ear which is a design I just don't like.
the headphones will be plugged to clip + btw. out-door activities, running, cycling, gym and things like that. |

Have you tried the Koss KSC75? They clip on the ear and are quite a bit under your budget, but I like the sound quality and find they stay glued to the ear while off-road cycling.

I have the Koss SportaPro.
While they fit well and stay glued I'm just not satisfied with the sound quality. It is much better than other 15-204 headphones I've heard but I'm looking for more. I'm using Sennheiser's HD238 for everyday use, that makes me a bit greedy |

Sounds like you want the Sennheiser PX100II. In the US it is around $50 on Amazon or J&R.
