Default Do Phonak Audeo filters ever wear out

This morning I notice that the right earbud of my Phonak Audeo pfe's was considerably quieter than the left. I decided to give them a quick cleaning and change the filters on them and the volume was back to normal. I had the pair of gray filters in them for about a year. Has anyone else with these headphones experience the filters wearing out? To me I think the it was the cleaning that probably restored the sound.

Mine got clogged up with wax (presumably) every 3 months or so. Everybody has different ears and different levels of wax buildup so I'd expect that the amount of time it takes for them to get clogged up varies wildly.

Once they're clogged with wax you just have to soak them for half an hour in 3% hydrogen peroxide, that makes them good as new. No need to ever buy new ones if you're careful when screwing them out and in.

Just wondering if there are other ways to clean it rather than hydrogen peroxide, or if that's just your preferred method.
