Overpowered? Even the Tegra 3 is considered so.

For the first time, I really like samsung's new touchwiz UI. Next to that, this phone as finally a Wolfson DAC again which means superb SQ and Voodoo!
The PenTile screen is a bit dissapointing but not a dealbreaker. |

That's awesome to hear about Wolfson DAC. They might of included it to improve call quality as well. I read a few more first hands on article and some are reporting that the colours are little more accurate which some will like so it seems they've done some tunning compared to the nexus. However, market wise, they should of added a filter or some customization to the screen so it would seem more advance than the galaxy nexus screen. I think Gorilla glass 2 might serve as an improvement to image quality.

Now I wish they'd have gone with the leaked designs after all D:

Is PenTile that bad? Did a quick search and saw really bad opinions, but all from other phones/devices ofcourse.
I saw the S2 in store and the screen is gorgeous, I can't imagine Samsung would go with a lesser screen on the S3.

PenTile isn't that bad, IMO. I'm currently using a phone with a PenTile display. The times that its most "problematic" is when you are viewing things with lots of white in them (so mainly web browsing). You'll notice the pixelation then, but otherwise its fine.

A lot of white, so that's also when reading documents? (ebooks) .. But thanks for your input, I'm not too worried about it anymore, but I'd still like to see it first (and don't pre-order... or should I..
)S Voice seems really cool too, Quote:

On older phones it was, particularly for whites because the individual subpixels would sort of shimmer on edges. The newer HD Pentile stuff is fine however, since the pixel pitch is now much smaller then is possible to resolve with the human eye.

For e-books it's best to get an e reader app that has a "night mode" to invert the white background to black as it would dramatically increase battery life AMOLED screen devices and reduce eye strain as well. Last edited by nathan; 05-05-2012 at 12:35 PM. |

I've never liked the inverted view in Word, but for the battery's sake it's worth a try.

OTOH, if it's an AMOLED screen of some sort, then the darker background will result in battery savings. Off topic, but I've never liked the typical inversion of white text on a black background. If I'm reading at night, I'll use grey text on a black background - much easier on the eyes and still perfectly visible in low light. Moreover I'd root the device to use an app like root dim to lower the screen brightness below the manufacturer minimum.

nothing impressive...naa just lying to myself, it seem a great phone with great features... but touchiwzz!!! the most hatefull ui ever made!! why they wouldn't use vanilla?, i love vanilla, it's easy, great and free of all the crap!!, apparently they use the same screen of the gnex, i don't see nothing wrong with it, for me its the best screen on the market, nice color, sharpen, not oversatured, not to bright and have a nice black color...even if is a pentyle matrix display, but better wait for another nexus device...

I thought this was pretty funny. Apparently S voice passed the "woodchuck test".

Guess what I saw while googleing something (look at attachment) ...
Either the North American version is going to have LTE and Exyno quad-core processor or this is a huge slip up by Rogers Canada. |
