Been surfing the last few days more than I did all summer, killer swells still rolling in certain spots. Left by noon today, arms feel like rubber and couldn't even do a push up on last ride. Wish I had some pictures to share but I don't take cam to the beach when I surf cause it would get stolen and you can't see your stuff from 1st peak cause of jetties :/

That said, there was a huge run of blue fish from NY already here, spoke to two guys that were fishing since 8:00Am till noon and they had around 40+ each on gator spoons.

I just started back working out today. My medical test + my rotator cuff injury+ the 2 storms we had prevented me from doing any exercises. I finally did a few chinups without falling off the bar. It felt good,...

Wow, it's been a year-and-a-half since someone posted in the workout thread?
Well, sorry to necro-post, but I wanted to know if anybody has any recommendations for a doorway-mounted pull-up bar? I was looking at the Iron Gym Total Body Workout Bar. Seems pretty reasonable in cost. It's supposed to be easy to put up and take down too. Any tips?

I'd recommend this one instead, as it's more solidly built & and have more grip variations: http://www.amazon.com/ProSource-Heav...ds=pull+up+bar

Hey, thanks TDS. I think I have looked at that one before. It does seem better. Thanks for refreshing my memory.

I got the pull up bar today. It is nice. I feel like it's going to fall off the doorway though while I'm hanging on it, though I'm sure it won't (I hope).
The takeaway from all of this is...damn I'm out of shape. And heavy. But it will get easier as I become ridiculously ripped like Bruce Banner.

Actually, I trained to be a PT as well, and I was just real lazy in regards to my diet & cardio training. I'm 35lbs + lighter now, and I'm shooting to lose another 10lbs in the next month or so. I'm doing good, and I think you'll be back into it soon enough.

As for the doorway gym, I have a small fix to keep it more stable. Get a small wooden block, attach it to the doorway, just under the spot where the gym's support bar will rest. Make sure it comes out at least an inch past the bar. Even create a shelf type lip if possible. This will support and stabilize the door gym. I did that for my friends setup. I also used to have it like that @my house, until I got a more "permanent" solution. I actually miss my "Power Tower" setup more,...

I hope so. I started running again about a month ago, and am now able to do 5k without dying. I just bought a new pair of running shoes too. Exercising is difficult, and my motivation is pretty lacking sometimes, but my biggest hurdle is eating sweets. I have such a hard time leaving candy (specifically chocolate candies) and ice cream alone.

Great idea! I may try this.

I can't run/jog, I had plantar fasciitis about 2yrs ago. That's why I bike, use a rowing machine, etc.

And sweets are my weakness too. Cakes, cookies, and that damn (DELICIOUS) chocolate covered caramel! And don't forget GUMMIE BEARS!!! ARGH!!!

I'm naturally ectomorphic in nature. It takes alot of food abuse to throw the fat on me, putting muscle on is my nemesis.
