I've been looking for IEMs for not more than 100$. Decent passive noise isolation, clarity, clean, accurate sound yada yada. Listening to mostly pop (bit of country and acoustic songs). Bass doesn't have to be crazy, just existent. I've been thinking between A151 and CC51 from MEElectronics. The only thing putting me off A151 is over the ear design (how does it look? how does it feel?). If you've got any other IEMs to recommend that would suit my needs please do (I'm not an expert, but from what I've seen around forums etc. those MEE ones are good). Also, I wouldn't mind spending like, I don't know, 150-ish if they're that much better than the >100$ ones.

The A151s and the CC51s are the best that MEE offers right now AFAIK. I like the A151s and wrote a review here if you care for the read. I haven’t tried the CC51s yet but I believe what I’ve read about them from some of the reviews. The over the ear thing can be hard to get use to and I’ve read that some peeps just don’t like it. If you can get past the learning curve on it, it’s the best way to wear any/most IEMs that will allow you to wear that way. Why do I say that? Mainly because it reduces or eliminates any annoying cable microphonics that you can hear from poorly designed cables. So if you can train yourself to accept this method it can become second nature and you'll wonder why you waited so long to pick it up.
Edit: BTW the price has dropped on the A151s since I wrote that review, you can find them between $41 and $50 online regularly or even lower when they go on sale.

I actually did read it like an hour ago! Well, I guess I should give A151 a try then. Hope it won't look and feel that weird.
Oh and not really, I believe Amazon, E-bay etc. don't ship to my country so... 80$ it is.

If those are the ones you want, IIRC MEE does ship internationally and they also have some good sales from time to time. BTW I'm use to wearing IEMs over my ears but if I wasn't, I'm not sure I'd spend that much just to test how I liked it. I started doing it with much cheaper IEMs and worked my way up, just a thought.

Off topic, do you know where I could find some coupon codes? Apparently, one expired 5 days ago, -30$. Should've been quicker. :/

I don’t have anything to do with MEE; I just tested 3 of their IEMs, spoke to 2 of their employees and wrote reviews about them. They may have even been a bit displeased with one of the reviews *cough M16s*

I am looking for one sub $100 IEM too. Please advice. For me bass is important. WalkGood mentioned A151 doesn't have good sub bass. Which other IEM do you recommend? How is Nuforce 700x?
Don't wanna start a new thread for same. Thanks

Walkgood is correct, the A151 lack in sub-bass. The CC51 would do better, but their build quality is questionable. I have the Shure SE215, they have plenty of bass, but lack in the treble. Otherwise, they seem good. I would suspect there are better alternatives though.

How does the A151 compare to the Sony XBA-1? I was thinking about buying the A151, but then read about the XBA-1. Now I am thinking that I should wait for the XBA-1 price to drop to around $50 or so.

Might be a while, I thought the XBA series isn't even out yet?

Well I'll throw my 2 cents in and say for around $100 I think the Yamaha EPH-100 (which is $115 at Audio Affair), Creative Aurvana 3 (its $104 on Amazon now) as their my 2 favorite mid-tier IEM's at the moment.
The EPH-100 have a somewhat laid back sound but are still quite detailed with very clean bass and a good 3D soundstage. Now the Aurvana 3 has a smooth lush mid-centric sound that still revealing and detailed along with a wide and airy soundstage imo. For under $100 the A151 is a very good IEM along with the SoundMAGIC PL50 which also has a mid-centric sound and both go for around $50 on Amazon. |

I got the sony EX600 for 110 usd at ebay, slightly used, with all accessories (3 tips missing, but i had more) I dont think you can beat this deal, if you are in for used and lucky.
or wait for black friday and get the Triple.Fi 10 from amazon. and actually those and the Miles davis tributes are teh only IEMs over 100 I own. I really like the Ety MC5 and it cost like 60 usd. comfort can be a PITA and the deep insertion takes time to get used to. also, not for bassheads. so I usually dont recommend this one, but I do love its sound.

How does the MC5 compare to the Meelectronics A151 or the Sony EX310? How does it compare to the ATH-CKM33?

MC5 seems to work better with vocal music, the voice sounds very realistic to me. but i dont like it for, say, metal music, it doesnt have punch enough IMO
