Pantech SMP-301
I'm curious. On the French forum owendia, they say that the Pantech SMP-301 is supposed to be their best pmp, and that its SQ is top notch. It's hard for me to give it credits since there is no other reviews or comparisons on the net.
The thing can be found on exportprive. Any feedback here ? Does anyone know about this pmp ? Has someone tested this stuff ? The brand is pretty unknown to me, I heard they also make mobile phones.

It seems to be equipped with SRS WOW which is horrible, and it's extremely over price @ 100 euros more than the J3 32GB.
There is no chance that thing is better than the J3.

Never heard of that Korean company before. Looks interesting, specs-wise, especially the screen - similar to the Viliv P3. Other than that it's a quite pricey Android mini-tablet. The lack of tactile buttons on the Pantech is a huge con.
Agree with Adubb, SRS are certainly the worst sounding "enhancements" out there.

I think that the high price can be explained by the expensive 800x480 AMOLED screen, and the ability to play 1080p videos without re-encoding.
But I agree with you all, I've never found anything better than the BBE enhancements.

They have a 32GB Pantech SMP-301M for $165. It might be worth a shot for the price. Don't know anything about the player or the company, so I'm not calling dibs.
