TDS, I honestly think you should try the Able Planet SI550. It's only $30 and if you don't like it, Costco has a very easy return policy.

I might get a pair if I can find a buddy with a costco membership local. most of my friends use sams club.

As prices have gone down since I got mine I have seen some great deals. So I would wait for the next big sale if price is an issue. Anything between 35 to 45 or lower is a steal for their sq. Another tip is to be prepared to change tips if you don't like the included ones, I find foam much nicer but occasionally I do like their double flange tips (best of included ones). Although they do include a lot of tips IIRC so you may find another to your liking. *One last point, these fit best with the cable over the ear, not that they can't be worn down but this eliminates any cable microphonic issue, although the cables on these are very light weight and microphonics free IMHO.

I will say...the bass on these things are a bit reigned in when listening on my Cowon J3.

Pros: Comfortable and well-designed; deep, powerful bass; good clarity and all-around performance
Cons: Bass can occasionally be overwhelming

He did note, as did TDS, that these sound best at higher volumes, but a 9/10 in the "Value" category isn't bad.

Newegg has them for $40 right now if TDS was still considering them.

I just sold mine a few weeks ago, I found them to be too veiled for my tastes. They do sound good when you kick the volume up, but I'm a mostly low-volume listener. And at low volume the mids are too recessed to me.

I finally went back to my E10. not because of the sound but comfort and fit. The vPulse had a tendency to rest on my cartilage. got uncomfortable after about an hour. E10 are light a comfy, especially over the ear with comply tips.
