I found another pair of velour earpads by Pearstone that fit the MDR-V6. They might be able to stretch out easier than the Beyer.

I like that the foam shield is sewed into the pads rather than being separate like the Beyerdynamic.

Yeah, sorry. I got sick, I was stuck at home recovering, and now I'll have these by the middle of the coming week. I'll post a pic once I put them on (smexy smexy).

And, since you feel unloved, let me thank you as well bro. I hope I didn't hurt your feelings,...

I thought it is worth mentioning again that the Cortex CHP-2500 is the same as theProdipe Pro 800, Takstar TS-650 and KAM KHP-1500 for those who live outside of North America.

Don't worry, I'll get a future discount from you on the velodyne's for my grief & suffering, as well as all my pain and anguish.

Besides, I HATE pleather pads - I NEED velour,...

Me too. I even prefer cheap velour over pleather.

I put tem on, I took them off - the Pearstone ear pads are too shallow. The fit and material are excellent though. But, my shure srh750dj pads are thicker and provide better cushioning (without adding extra stuffing/batting). I'll stay with what I have ATM.

Didn't your MDR-V6 have the Beyerdynamic pads installed? I would try trading them.

I had some velour replacement pads on my old MDR-V6, but I don't remember the brand. These would do, but the others were thicker. And I no longer have the V6, my oldes son took them,...so no trading between the sets.

Anyone with these headphones, if you want to give them a good workout, I recommend Massive Attack's Mezzanine album.

I haven't listen to the Cortex CHP-2500 in awhile especially after I received the Incase Sonic.

The bass isn't as strong and the overall sound isn't as impressive as I remembered it. So I started wondering how the CHP-2500 would sound as an open headphones.

So what I did to test how they sound open is take the cup apart and put them up against my ears. To my surprise, the bass increase a lot while the mids and highs became fuller. The bass to me is actually stronger than if they were closed. Sound strange The overall sound is quite balanced. The soundstage also increased tremendously.

I think these headphones have a lot of potential as open headphones.

You drill some holes in them yet? They are already semi-open they do have a 3 small holes in each cup I believe.

Not yet. I plan to just cut a big round hole in the back and put some type of mesh in them. Don't know how I will accomplish this, but this will be a fun project.
